Boone County, Illinois

Boone County is located in the very North Central part of Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

It is named for Kentucky Frontiersman Daniel Boone. The seat and largest city are both Belvidere, located on the Kishwaukee River.

It borders McHenry, DeKalb, Ogle and Winnebago Counties in Illinois, as well as Rock and Walworth Counties in Wisconsin.

Main Highways include I-90, US-20, IL-76 and IL-173.
